Powermatic's PJ-882 is an extra-long 8 inch jointer that is highly refined and loaded with features.
The extra-long 82 inch bed length provides exceptional support and accuracy for jointing long boards. Depth of cut is controlled quickly and precisely thanks to the long control handle and parallelogram beds. A depth limiter knob keeps the depth of cut from accidentally being set over 1/8 inch, but a quick twist of the knob overrides this setting for rabbetting.
The parallelogram design ensures perfect parallelism even after years of hard use, and ensures that the edge of the table is kept close to the cutterhead for increased safety.
The large fence is fully adjustable, and the innovative handwheel allows you to effortlessly change the tilt. Positive stops at +/-45, and 90 degrees, enable repeatability in settings. A non-mar insert in the cast iron fence prevents damage to the table during adjustment.
Includes Powermatic's controlled chip 3-knife cutterhead for safe and smooth cutting. The heavy steel stand provides mass and stability, while the 2 HP motor provides power for surfacing hardwoods.
