Product Specialist (Woodworking Tools)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven Product Specialist to join our fantastic sales team. As a Product Specialist you will know our products like the back of your hand, have the ability to identify and anticipate customer needs, conduct market research and analyze trends, perform demos, and love that you get to share your passion for woodworking tools.

To be successful as a product specialist, you must have a passion for the products you work with and keep expanding product knowledge. To support this, we offer a generous discount.

Responsibilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of premium woodworking tools & machinery
  • Understanding of woodworking processes and applications
  • Understand and assist in demos and promos
  • Ability to qualify customers and understand their needs
  • Able to coordinate events
  • Identify trade shows related to our business and participate
  • Assist with marketing group for any related topics to promote Ultimate Tools
  • Identify/refine product selection and compare market pricing

Requirements:

  • A keen eye for spotting market trends, a willingness to inspire clients, and the ability to work both independently and within a team
  • High school diploma or similar
  • Extensive experience in retail, sales, or customer service would be advantageous
  • Ability to memorize details like product specifications
  • Articulate and able to perform demonstrations that engage and inspire
  • Deadline-driven and willing to put in work
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills, as well as great telephone etiquette
  • A strong growth mindset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,365.77-$79,043.49 per year

Inside Sales Rep/Tool Expert 

At Ultimate Tools we sell premium woodworking tools and machinery to both the hobby and professional markets. Our customers are our friends and their success is our success. As the Inside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for creating social media content, support the sales and executive team, assist customers both in person and by phone/email.

Duties: 

  • Greet and engage with customers to assist with their needs, recommend tools and parts, answer customer questions, and close the customer sale 
  • Assist customers with their sales purchases 
  • Utilize point-of-sale system and computer terminals to check inventory, look-up orders and process transactions including web orders 
  • As an associate you may be assigned to support a variety of departments 
  • Create engaging social media posts and content ie; videos for reels 
  • Maintain store signage and ensure it is up to date with our latest branding 
  • Be present at and assist in events/tool demonstrations both in store and out of store 



Requirements: 

  • Strong knowledge of woodworking tools and the ability to recommend appropriate tools and accessories 
  • Comfortable performing demonstrations of a variety of tools 
  • Ability to interact with the public in a tactful, courteous manner 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Experience in a customer facing environment 
  • Organized and able to prioritize and multitask 
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok 
  • Analytical skills 
  • Eagerness to learn and continually improve social media engagement 
  • Excellent time management skills 
  • Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Office applications 

Working Conditions 

  • Comfortable lifting products as required (25 – 50lbs); bending, kneeling, standing for extended periods of time 
  • CSA approved safety shoes (green triangle) 
  • Utilize computer terminals, and/or phone to check inventory and provide order assistance.
