The first time I saw Origin in person was at Festool Connect on September 10, 2016 over the shoulders of the small mob around their demo. This was just before the product began shipping.
Now, a decade later, Shaper's product lineup is officially moving into the Festool portfolio starting in 2027.
What does this mean for you, the customer?
All existing Shaper Origin customers with an active warranty can receive an additional year of warranty from Festool by registering their tool.
Origin's software will still be maintained and updated throughout and after the transition.
Shaper accounts will be automatically transitioned to MyFestool accounts, beginning on December 15th, 2026.
