Woodpeckers MT Centre Gauge & Dowelling Jig enables quick and precise centred layout and dowel joinery
Based on the simple geometry of a parallelogram, Woodpeckers' MT Centre Gauge and Doweling Jig makes it quick and easy to find the centre of your material. Interchangeable stainless steel marking bars and doweling jig bar allow you to accurately mark centre, layout mortise and tenon joinery, or drill for dowels.

Once you determine what size tenon you want, simply install the corresponding bar in the jig and scribe on either side for perfectly sized, perfectly centred layout lines. Each bar features a hole to mark exact centre with a pencil. The imperial set includes 1/4, 3/8, 7/16 and 1/2 inch widths, and the metric set includes 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 millimetre widths.
Switch to the doweling jig bar to use the MT Centre Gauge as a Doweling Jig
By swapping the stainless steel marking bars for the doweling jig bar, the MT Centre Gauge becomes a self-centring doweling jig with 1/4 and 3/8 inch stainless steel guide bushings. Simply align the notches in the side of the doweling jig bar with your layout lines and drill. Because there is no need to clamp the jig, drilling for dowels is extremely fast.
For repeat positioning from the end of the stock, use the adjustable end stop which can be set up to 2-5/8 inches or 65 millimetres from the edge to centre of first hole. To extend dowel holes along an edge, the indexing pin fit down the drill guide bushing and into the previously drilled hole to positively align the jig for the next holes.
