Ultimate Tools is looking for committed, hard working tool enthusiasts to join our team at our Burnaby store.

We sell premium woodworking tools and machinery to both the hobby and professional markets. Our customers are our friends, and we grow through their success.

Positions Available:

Inside Sales/Support Associate
Field Service Technician
Job Duties
  • Assist customers in-store, on-line, phone and email promptly
  • Establish new customer relationships and build on existing ones
  • Shipping/Receiving duties as needed
  • Identify and resolve customer concerns in a timely manner
  • Monitor inventory and notify controller of low inventory or special orders
  • Recommend changes in products, services and policies by evaluating feedback and competitors
  • Help maintain and update our website with current information
  • Work well in a team environment
Job Duties
  • Effectively install and setup all types of machinery from our Wood Working lines
  • Complete Field rebuilds (partial or complete) of installed equipment.
  • Assist customer with troubleshooting and resolving issues over the phone or at customer’s facility
  • Build demo units for our showroom floor.
  • Effectively trouble shoot machinery and equipment working in the field
  • Trouble shoot electrical, pneumatic or mechanical problems.
  • Read, follow and understand operations manuals.
  • Advise customer of parts needed; recommend parts for purchase so our clients can keep their operations running smoothly.
  • Complete service and expense reports, as well as other relevant reports for management.
  • Able to travel on short notice (sometimes within hours)
  • Constant learning in on-site and off-site training sessions and courses
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Woodworking experience/knowledge
  • Focused on providing an excellent customer experience
  • Confident and reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent computer & communication skills, and able to clearly present a product or idea
  • Eager to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Motivated to make sales
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Willing to learn, with a positive attitude
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven mechanical ability
  • Manual Dexterity
  • Accuracy in measuring and math
  • Able to lift 50 - 70 lbs
  • Able to bend, twist, stand, walk, crouch, climb
  • CLEAN DRIVERS ABSTRACT- required
Our Ideal Candidate will have:
  • Woodworking experience/knowledge is an asset
  • A thorough understanding of woodworking tools and machinery
  • Ability to work independently
  • Class 5 Driver’s Licence
Our Ideal Candidate will be:
  • Service Oriented – you like people and you love machines. You really want to help people get their equipment up and running.
  • Mechanically Inclined – You understand electrical, pneumatic and mechanical machines.
Job Type:
  • Full Time
  • Must be available Monday – Saturday as store is open on 6 days a week. Shift will either be Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday. 40 hours / week.
